Recently, a number of Prins Claus Conservatorium students and staff have expressed concerns about social safety and changes in education. The Hanze Executive Board has also received these signals. The response from the Executive Board is:
We take these signals seriously. Students and staff must feel safe and heard, which is a precondition for a good working and study environment.
In order to uncover what is going on, we have asked an independent agency to investigate the concerns about social safety. This investigation will start as soon as possible and based on the results; we will determine what follow-up steps are needed.
We are proud of our conservatoire; of the important place it occupies in the North and the beautiful things that happen there. It is of concern to us that there are students and staff who have safety concerns and who feel that they are not being heard enough. Our priority now is therefore to carefully investigate what is going on.
