Prins Claus Conservatorium strongly represented in 2026 Edison Jazz nominations

The nominations for the 2026 Edison Jazz Awards have been announced. Among the nominees are three musicians connected to Prins Claus Conservatorium.

Marike van Dijk (Manager, Master of Music) is nominated with Nu Art Orchestra in the National category for The Tivoli Sessions #1. Suzan Veneman (alumna) is nominated in the same category for her album The Art Of Letting Go. Gijs Idema (Principal Study Teacher, Jazz Guitar) is nominated with the Idema / Serierse Quartet in the National Vocal category for Serenade in Blue.

The Edisons are the highest distinction in the Dutch music industry and, after the Grammys, the oldest music award in the world. Since their introduction in 1960, an Edison has represented artistic quality and excellence. The nominations are awarded by independent professional juries based on artistic merit and recording quality.

The Edison Jazz and Classical Awards will be presented on 25 October 2026. With three nominees connected to Prins Claus Conservatorium, the Dutch jazz scene is once again well represented by artists from the conservatoire community.
