The Artistic Synthesis Project brings together music students from different approaches to present innovative cross-genre collaborations. This event is the culmination of a year long trajectory that brings together students from the three strands in the Master of Music: Classical Music, New Audiences and Innovative Practice (NAIP) and New York Jazz. First year students from each strand all add their unique focus and qualities to the mix. What happens when these different musical approaches come together?

Expect innovative cross-genre collaborations. Five small ensembles present new works, new arrangements and new ways of approaching performance. Think of Schubert arranged for a quintet with strings, drums and electronics, or perhaps Bill Evans ‘Peace Piece’ with classical instrumentation and electronics.

Free entry without reservation.
