From November 13th to 17th the International Student LiedDuo Competition will take place, under the artistic direction of pianist Hans Eijsackers.

48 young, talented duos from across Europe, the United States, and Asia, consisting of a pianist and a singer (representing 39 nationalities), have registered for the event.

The preliminary rounds will be held on Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15. From these rounds, 12 duos will be selected to perform in the semifinals on Saturday. The duos must present themselves in a theatrical manner during the semifinals, based on the theme "Sing a While Longer." The top six duos will be selected for the final on Sunday. The preliminary rounds and semifinals will take place at the Prins Claus Conservatorium, while the final, hosted by radio presenter Hans van den Boom, will be held at SPOT.

The jury consists of top musicians from the classical song world and is chaired by the world-renowned German baritone Olaf Bär.

  • Hans Eijsackers – pianist, artistic director (Düsseldorf)

In addition to the duo performances, various other activities will take place. The full program is as follows:

  • Wednesday, November 13, 8:00 PM: Night of the Romantic Song by the vocal department of the Prins Claus Conservatorium
  • Thursday, November 14, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM: First round ISLDC
  • Friday, November 15, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM: First round ISLDC
  • Friday, November 15, 8:00 PM: Masterclass by jury members for participants and a Masterclass or Workshop on programming (Prins Claus Conservatorium)
  • Saturday, November 16, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Semifinal ISLDC (Prins Claus Conservatorium)
  • Sunday, November 17, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Final ISLDC (SPOT, Oosterpoort)
